TNEJ (art collab)

"Nice Idea"

submission: TNEJ (art collab)
date: July 10, 2009

I think this would be best summed up as an interesting concept that's a little rough around the edges.
I have mixed feelings about the artwork. On one hand, it is very diverse -seeing a whole array of artistic style and ability sewn together was pretty neat. It almost reminded me of a childrens book (with dicks XD). But on the other hand, it did tend to clash a little bit, visually.
Overall, I'd have to side with creativity here. Though not as polished as I would have liked, this was certainly very creative and diverse.

I really liked the idea of a single story patched together like a quilt by several different authors, but I think it could have been executed a little better. The randomness of the story did possess a humorous quality, but it was just too sketchy for my taste.

I think combining this unique method of storytelling from a storybook style to a traditional animation collab would be a cool idea. Maybe generate a story using several different authors and have one animator meld it together visually. It might be kind of a frankenstein, but it would be interesting to see, nonetheless. :P

Overall, I did enjoy this on some levels. The concept was original and there was some cool artwork but it just wasn't my style.

BTS 2 - Trailer

"Nice!"

submission: BTS 2 - Trailer
date: June 29, 2009

For starters, I would like to say that yoshi did an AWESOME job on the title screen. It created a really scary atmosphere, which was really parodied by the trailer's humor and total lack of anything scary. :P
Once again, props to yoshi, you always make really cool stuff for these films, nice work! :D
In terms of the movie itself, it was exactly what I've come to expect from these movies. -A really well thought out and professional presentation with dynamic camera-work. (Did I lay it on a little thick)? :O

I can't think of much in terms of constructive criticism for the audio. The music you chose was very fitting for a scary theme and created a very comical atmosphere as it clashed with the sillyness of the movie itself. -Nice work in here.

I would say that the story seems to be the weak point of this film, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that this style of film is made better without the complex and detailed storyline. The random, silly humor is quality stuff and really made me laugh. That alone makes this more than worth my time to watch. :)

The humor was really the high point here, by far. The jokes that (though crude and predictable a times) really deliver a nice comedic punch. This was also really amplified by some fairly good acting.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. My only reoccurring issue with these movies is the quality of the video. But since there's not much you can do about that, I'll shut up. :P It hardly takes away from the quality of the film overall, anyway.
The bottom line is, this was too short and left me wanting more. -So mission accomplished, I officially can't wait for Beneath the Sheets 2. :P

Oh yeah, and fu, go back to YP pl0x :D

How to use the search bar

"Nice Job!"

date: June 21, 2009

The searchbar - a simple and seemingly obvious concept that so many forum-goers tend to overlook. :P
For starters, I loved how explosive this was in delivering its message. It's like a total 180 from you're typical tutorial which, though packed full of facts is usually rather dull and boring.
You did a great job presenting this. It wasn't at all overdone, it was simple, yet exciting and actually quite humorous.
I was also admiring how I was online at the time you took the screenshot of the BBS. :P (Totally pointless observation)

Overall, I don't have too much constructive criticisms with this one. It looks like you had a vision and executed it well. Nice job all around. :)

In A Daze

"Curious..."

submission: In A Daze
date: June 26, 2009

To me, this song possesses a very intellectual sound. The fragmented rhythm of the hi-hat is really what stuck out as the most focal point of this song, even above the lead melody. -While it fit with the song as a whole, it seemed to grind against the melody and give me a bit of an uneasy feeling. That's not a bad thing per say, I actually found it to be quite interesting...
The melodies were interesting and original and the song transitioned fairly well without sounding too chopped up.

Overall, I see this as a mellow tune with a very deep and almost dark sound. Nice work!

Endless Handbag Loop

"Classic"

date: April 23, 2009

There's just something about this simple little loop that oozes pure awesome. It's only 9 seconds in length, but can be listened to over and over again and not lose its appeal.
This has truly become the Newgrounds theme song throughout the years and has been featured in so many submissions. This does and will continue to remain one of the best loops ever on Newgrounds.
One of my all-time favorites.

Zapp Brannigan Montage

"Great!"

date: April 7, 2009

I haven't watched Futurama some time, but I do remember 'ol Zap quite well. You do a good job impersonating him, not to mention Kiff, too. You've got some pretty good range between the three characters you do in this clip, though.
Oh, and I must say that your Nixon is priceless. Like perfect man, seriously.
You seem to have some talent for voice acting Hearing those classic lines gave me a chuckle.
